	Foundation and Idea BM was established in 1996, based on the former Elbak enveloping and stacking technology. BM has since established a proud tradition in innovation in the battery industry and reached global leadership in wrapping, enveloping and stacking machines. BM's aim is to provide it's customers with ahead of the curve technology. It is BM´s promise as well as it's obligation to offer the most valuable machines, equipment and service on the highest quality standards.
	BM has three fields of excellence, enveloping and stacking, planning of battery factories and warehouse automation. The core business unit, enveloping and stacking, provides entry to high end enveloping and stacking solutions to customer's world wide. Planning of turnkey battery factories transfers BM's deep knowledge in the battery sector into easy-to-start battery production for everyone. Warehouse automation, as the third field of excellence, transfers the art of developing solutions for the battery industry into a new sector. As a member of the Styrian Automotive Cluster, BM provides unprecedented warehouse automation for leading industries. The sole owner and managing director, Eng. Anton Schwetz, has more than a quarter of a century experience in the battery industry, starting as a technical engineer in Elbak Maschinenbau in Graz in 1978, became the CEO of Elbak Maschinenbau in 1986.BM was founded in 1996 with a Partner, since the successful MBO Mr. Schwetz is the 100% owner of BM.

	Acquisitions BM is following a successful balanced growth strategy. Based on leading edge internal R&D as well as through the acquisition of selected external itellectual property BM maintains its position ahead of the curve. BM's highly sophisticated know how is based on the world wide well known ELBAK Enveloping and Stacking technology which was bought in 1996. Besides this BM acquired the assets of the Jungfer machinery division in 1998 as well as the know how of company Pucher in Graz in the field of industrial battery assembly. In 2002 BM purchased the know-how and the patent for an industrial plate sleeving machine from an Italian machine manufacturer. Corporate Development Since the foundation in 1996 BM performs a sustainable technological and economical development. Today a competent team of R&D and design engineers, well experienced mechanics, a lean administration and top sales service are making sure that BM's customers get the perfect service according to their specific requirements. The continuous growth made it possible to create more than 40 new working places within this period, representing an outstanding pool of knowledge for BM's business partners. BM machines are used all over the whole world. Approximately 98% of the machines are sold outside Austria. Reliable innovative machines, like the fastest enveloper in the world, the BM 20 R, and intensive cooperation with long-term as well as many new partners kept BM not only on the expansion track since its foundation. It made BM also the worldwide no. 1 in enveloping and stacking machines. Research and Development Continuous R&D efforts led to the development of new machines in every business field. High speed envelopers for the SLI industry (processing up to 220 plates/minute), machines for all kind of VRLA batteries, sleeving and stacking machines for the manufacturing of tractionary and stationary battery cells. The fully automatic "Crate manipulator" which has been successfully introduced to system integrators in the field of warehouse automation is just another example of the creative force of BM. One of the R&D recent projects is the development of a modular designed automatic loading system for enveloping and stacking machines.
