Crate Manipulator CM-6-4000

GENERAL:

Today’s state of the art logistic systems often use multifunctional and reusable crates (totes) in order to handle, store, and commission their goods.

This process requires a system for handling large volumes of both full and empty crates (totes).

• Processing up to 4,000 crates per hour.

• Full crates (totes) de-stacked and distributed for storage inside the warehouse.

• Full crates accumulated, stacked (palletised), and prepared for shipment.

• Empty crates de-stacked, sorted, and stored.

• Empty crates stacked (palletised) and prepared for shipment.

• Processing to washing/cleaning devices of crates from top and bottom.

The CM6 Crate Manipulator by BM Warehouse Automation of Austria is designed to handle crates with the dimensions specific for the application (i.e. 600 x 400 mm). The crates are delivered to the machine (on trolleys, dollies, or conveyors) in stacks of about 2 meters or 6-7 feet tall. The CM-6 high flexibility can also process a mix of crate (tote) types without any changes or adjustments provided that total mix has one equal footprint. (i.e. one 600 x 400 or two 300 x 400)

The most important part of the crate manipulator is the patented “Ferris wheel”, which has been developed by BM-Battery Machines GmbH. This “Ferris wheel” technology meets the requirement of an uninterrupted, smooth and soft flow of operation during highest stacking and de-stacking speed. The crates (totes) are never subjected to any vertical angles. They are maintained in a perfect horizontal plane during the entire process.Due to this unique technology, the gentlest motion during stacking and de-stacking is achieved and the manipulation rate up to 4000 crates/hour is infinitely variable.

The stacking wheels are in use in several hundred of our stacking machines world-wide and are responsible for a reliable and smooth operation. Our experience and know-how guarantee a minimum of maintenance and long service intervals. The big advantage of the machine is that it can be used as stacker and de-stacker without any change – simply by turning a switch or automatically by the software used. The main drive is controlled by a frequency converter.

This allows exact adjustment to the requested or existing conveyor speed.

Additional equipment:

Pallet manipulator:

For those applications where crates (totes) are delivered to the warehouse on pallets, the BM pallet manipulator is designed to remove the entire stack of crates off of the pallet. These stacks of crates are then conveyed down stream to the CM-6 for de-stacking. The empty pallets are ejected from the Pallet manipulator for stacking.

The pallet manipulator is also able to work in reverse to load a stack of crates onto a pallet after the crates are stacked and accumulated by the stacking operation of the CM-6.

Dolly manipulator:

For those applications where crates (totes) are conveyed on dollies, BM can supply dolly conveying systems, dolly de-stackers and dolly stackers.  The importance of using Dollys during stacking and de-stacking is rising more and more.

For this reason BM developed the CM-3-2-2000. With this machine it is possible to stack or de-stack directly onto or from the Dolly.

Advantages of the CM-3-2-2000:

• 2000 crates/hour

• No additional and expensive devices are required to put the stack onto or from the Dolly
